Members of the local farming, banking, communications, and business community attended an information Precision Ag Day at the Highland Community College Western Center in Baileyville recently to learn about the College’s new program which will begin with the Fall 2016 semester. Precision Ag Curriculum Specialist Jacob Maurer and the Western Center staff hosted visitors throughout the Day to provide them with information on the expectations for the new program.
In his first year with the College, Maurer has been developing nine courses for a new first-year hybrid Precision Ag curriculum for an Associate in Applied Science degree. In addition, Maurer has been working with area equipment and computer software providers as he will be equipping a Precision Ag Mobile Lab for area-wide service to producers and recruiting students for the program.
