After defeating Hesston College 88-48 in region play, the Highland Community College women’s basketball team has moved up to #10 in the National polls and will face #1 ranked Johnson County Community College on Saturday at 1:00 pm in Allen Field House on the Highland campus.
Both teams will come to the game with 10-0 records. In addition to having significance in the national polls, this will also be a pivotal Region VI and Jayhawk East Conference game. These two teams finished 1-2 in the Jayhawk East as well as Region VI a year ago and both are undefeated in the Region currently. “Our team is excited to play the top team in the country. Johnson is very good and will provide an incredible challenge in several areas for our team,” said Highland head coach BJ Smith.
