The Sunflower State Games Executive Director, Kris Wheeler, appointed Matt Ludwick, HCC esports coach, as the Sunflower State Games Commissioner of Esports.
The Sunflower State Games is the “largest amateur multi-sport competition in Kansas with competitions in over 25 different events.”
“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Esports division of the Sunflower State Games,” Ludwick said.
Ludwick has coached esports at Highland since 2022 with this year showing the most success with two teams winning championships. The HCC Rocket League team won the East 14 Conference League, and the HCC Valorant team won the East 6 Conference. HCC launched its esports program in the fall of 2019.
Competition for the Sunflower State Games Esports will be available to those who would like to compete and will be divided into different age groups. For more information about the Sunflower State Games, visit https://sunflowergames.com/.
