Students experiencing issues?

Student can't login:

First confirm that they have applied and been accepted to HCC. Then check that they are using the correct user id: lastname.firstname@highlandcc.edu. If they are having trouble remembering their password, they should select the Forgot Password link. If they are still having problems, please contact the IT Helpdesk

*Note: If they are logging into the MyHCC portal instead of the main website, then their username does not need to include @highlandcc.edu.*

Student doesn’t know their password:

If they cannot remember their password, please have them select the Forgot Password link. If they are still having problems, please contact the IT Helpdesk

Student doesn't know their login ID:

Their login ID is typically LastName.FirstName@highlandcc.edu. Their login ID, HCC email address, temporary password, and student ID can all be found shortly after the submission of the high school online application in an email from donotreply@highlandcc.edu. Please have them check their junk and spam folders if they do not receive this email before calling for more assistance as it does appear in those folders frequently. If they still believe they have not received this email, please contact the IT Helpdesk

Student doesn’t know their HCC student ID #:

If they need their HCC student ID to sign up for a payment plan or request a placement test, please have them login to their MyHCC account and click the My Profile link and select Account Information

Student cannot enroll:

The most common issue students face when trying to enroll is a “Stop” on their account.

  • Financial Stop:  Current/past students must have their tuition paid in full in order to enroll in future courses, request transcripts, or receive a diploma from HCC. If they get this notice when trying to enroll, please have them login to their MyHCC account and click the Finances Tab. Under this tab they will be able to view their statementmake a payment, or set up a payment plan (if before deadline).
  • Bookstore Stop: Current/past students must have returned or paid to replace any rental textbooks they used in order to enroll in future courses, request transcripts, or receive a diploma from HCC. If they get this notice when trying to enroll, please have them contact HCC’s bookstore via email or by calling 785.442.6009.
  • Student Handbook Stop: Current/past students must have completed to Student Handbook Acknowledgment Agreement Form indicating that they have read the Student Handbook in order to enroll in future courses. If they get this notice when trying to enroll, please direct them to this form or have them contact earlycollege@highlandcc.edu for assistance.

General Enrollment Guidelines:

New Students - Please assist them with applying for admission here. They will want to select the High School Application for Admission to apply for admission to Highland Community College. This is very important as students selecting the other applications will receive a TB Hold on their account stopping them from enrollment. Their application will be processed within 1-3 business days. They will NOT be able to enroll the same day they apply for admission. The Early College Getting Started flyer is a great resource for new students.

Students will receive an email with their login id and password, as well as an acceptance email.  This is how they will login to their MyHCC account for the first time. The Early College Getting Started flyer has step-by-step directions, so you may assist them.  Of course, we are always available to help.

Returning Students – If a returning student has not taken any classes in the past year, they will need to reapply for admission. Otherwise, please assist them with logging into their HCC account here: HCC Login.  Should students experience any issues, please have them contact our IT department at 785.442.6060. Students can reset their password with the email address they provided when they applied for admission. The password will then be emailed to the email address we have on file.  I’m happy to check this information if students need assistance. Some students have issues with our login system (class link is an extension that needs to be downloaded). Students can access MyHCC directly to avoid the class link single sign on.

Online Enrollment – Once students have successfully been accepted and have created their accounts, they can log into their MyHCC account and enroll online. For step-by-step information on enrolling via their MyHCC accounts, please click here: MyHCC Enrollment Directions.

Payment – Students will not receive a bill; students should print a MyHCC Statement at the conclusion of the enrollment process. It is important students understand their payment options. They can submit payment online – MyHCC How to Pay – or setup up a Payment Plan

Students can pay in full in the following ways:

  • Pay Online Through MyHCC Account

  • Call Business Office at 785.442.6001

  • Mail Payment to HCC Business Office – 606 W. Main Street – Highland, KS 66035
